HD ready recruitment?

Most of you will have seen this logo or heard the phrase HD ready (high definition for those that haven't) when it comes to new digital televisions. It got me thinking.......we could also apply this logo / phrase to the world of recruitment.

Hiring Diversity ready.

As we all know (or you should know) diversity (CIPD defines diversity as valuing everyone as an individual – valuing people as employees, customers and clients) in recruitment is one of the hottest topics at the moment. But how does a prospective employee who is interested in joining a company 'really know' if the company takes diversity seriously? Of course the website can 'tell' them about their policies, but as we all know company websites have been known to 'extend' the truth sometimes!!

So when a company has an established track record around diversity recruitment, they could then use this logo or something similar to indicate that they adhere to diversity in the workplace. And by placing this on their websites it would be a clear indicator for anybody vivting their website. Of course it would need a large Body to take responsibility for this, such as the CIPD, to provide guidelines that would need to be achieved to gain Hiring Diversity ready status. But as this is all based around government legislation, would that be hard to do?
