Every day, there are social media numbers spread all over the place - ironically mainly on the social media channels, especially on Twitter! No one knows where they come from, many are tenuous at best and yet everyone shares them like mindless lemmings!
Sometimes there are some that are actually useful and put some reality back into social media statistics. Yesterday I came across a list that is just superb. As someone who writes, presents and speaks about social media most days, I am always getting asked how big (numbers wise) certain networks are. Not the big main ones like LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter etc, but some of the more specialist and niche social networks. And then the next question is, how recent is that figure?
Here is the snapshot of what I found - a list of pretty much every social network and associated app you can find online!!

I told you it was pretty comprehensive!! The full list is here, over on the expandedramblings.com blog - and it is a real eye opener, for those of you that have heard the hype about certain networks and their memberships!
